Modern, Black Tie Coastal Wedding Affair

As we walked onto the grounds where Jenna and Phillip planned to say their ‘I do’s,’ the sun was glistening across the ocean, the breeze was softly rustling through the trees, and you could hear the waves crashing onto the beach below. It was one of those rare and spectacular October days in Oregon, and all I can remember was smiling to myself, thinking these two deserve it all. Jenna and Phillip were one of our pandemic couples – they had been faced with their fair share of hurdles, but their biggest challenge was that they were forced to find a new venue just months before their wedding day, as their original venue closed its doors.

The views from The Pointe were nothing short of magical – as the morning mist rolled in over the ocean, it felt like you were standing at the edge of Never Never Land. It was the perfect setting for their cliffside, black tie affair.

The overall vision for their wedding day was modern, elegant and intimate. They wanted dinner under the stars with their closest family and friends. Jenna and Phillip celebrated with a beautiful, traditional Jewish ceremony, featuring a custom made chuppah, built by the groom himself.

The color palette was soft and subtle – ivory, white, and the slightest touches of pale pink.

Adding in contrast with compliments of black and brushed gold brought balance and sophistication to the design.

There was something about being at the beach that felt so right for this couple. They have a casual yet classic elegance about them.

They opted to take a moment before the ceremony to read their vows to one another in private. It was a true reflection of who they are, and you can see by the way they look at each other how much love there is between them.

Cocktail hour did not disappoint. We always recommend picking custom cocktails that truly represent the couple as individuals. In this case, it rang true – Old Fashioned for the groom, and a Spicy Paloma for the bride. Between the sun-kissed cliffside & champagne tower, built from our favorite Chin coupes from Great Jones NW, the evening was off to a beautiful start.

At their reception, guests were invited to be seated at a long, family style table under a sea of twinkle lights.

The tablescape featured Bone velvet linens by BBJ La Tavola, modern glassware and matte black flatware. Atop each bread and butter plate was a set of miniature French macaroons for their guests to enjoy.

The night sky was incredible – the stars were out and the moon was bright – it was a picturesque Pacific Northwest evening.
